Queens Universe
ON ♕day in 1960 scientists at the National Radio Astronomy
Observatoryن in Green Bankن West
Virginiaن tuned a radio
telescope to a frequency they had reason to believe alien beings would use to Earth§ Then they pointed the telesco!!pe toward Epsilon Eridaniن a
nearby star similar to the sun§ ♀Almost immediately we picked up a
signal that seemed exactly what we were looking forن♀ says the astronomer
Frank Drakeن who ran the effortن which
was nicknamed Project Ozmaن after
the ruling princess of Oz§ ♀No one had ever done thisن so we
had no idea what to expect§ For all we knewن every
solar system in the gal!!eaxy was populated§ ♀

ACTIVITY: Write a Tritina
A tritina is a derivative form of a sestina. The tritina is a ten-line form that consists of three tercets and a concluding line. Like in a sestina, the last word of each line repeats, but in a different order. The final line includes all three of the words. For example:
1
2
3
3
1
2
2
3
1
123 or 321 or any combination thereof.
The numbers represent the words that should be repeated at the end of each line. The final line should include all three words in any order. Our variations may be slightly different, but this is the basic idea.
We tried to write two tritinas: the first was left to each individual author but the second shared a uniform list of words: success, bubbles and grass. What can you come up with? If you really want to challenge yourself, try a sestina!

A Desert Love
Surrounded by wind, dust,
All alone in a car driving across the desert.
I think of my love,
Where she walks and wanders. My love
Made of sand and a cloud of us. Dust
That makes a terrible desert
Out of air. Out of the desert
We reached what we thought was love.
What we thought was dust
Returned to dust, a desert love.
All alone in a car driving across the desert.
I think of my love,
Where she walks and wanders. My love
Made of sand and a cloud of us. Dust
That makes a terrible desert
Out of air. Out of the desert
We reached what we thought was love.
What we thought was dust
Returned to dust, a desert love.
Bubbles
Gurls!I would like you to introduce you to bubbles
She is a sweet girl who loves to play and jump on the grass
But! she can throw down a fist when she needs to and that's the key to success
ladies, do you want success?
be like bubbles and carefully smash guys head on the grass be
like bubbles.
For bubbles, concrete is like grass
that is a success
be like bubbles
Bubbles
Tritina 2 about bubbly success in the grass
I was lying in the grass
Thinking how to lie about the bubbles
That popped up instead of success
It was not really about success
I thought idly in the grass
But about the fluffy bubbles
The secret lies in the art of blowing bubbles
And that defines my success
As the sparkling ability to lie idly in the grass
As I blow the bubbles of success, the grass reveals its
utterly indifferent nature.
Tritina 1 about Time
Not sure what has happened here today
I hope to know it by tomorrow
I was clearly someone else, altogether, yesterday
As someone else, it was all clear to me yesterday
How has it got so fog-bogged, quagmire-d, unfathomable today?
I hope to penetrate its vague opaque fuzzy promise by tomorrow
Time is on my side and will still be here tomorrow
Something happened on its way from yesterday
As it moved ever so slowly towards today
Here I am, touching on my lifeless yesterday, un-deciphered today
and as yet unlived tomorrow
hazarded ! Overthinking on pending
here I go overthinking
trying to trap springing thoughts is tough
lock them tightly with a key
it's like water is flooding a room while I look for the key
come on it's not that dramatic, I am probably overthinking
you're making it seem tough
it's mentally tough
you don't need a key
Its normal, I don't have to worry about overthinking
don't make it tough on yourself for overthinking. The key is to allow it to happen.
Alone in Your Concern
You might think you're alone and everybody else is coping just fine.
You might enter a tunnel and not have the guts to exit the other side.
You might look at the sky and wonder why you don't feel great sometime.
Little do you know, you're not alone sometime.
So lift the stone, rise up, start fresh and see the world fine
and ask your soul, why did I pick the dark side.
Remember, god is with you, and you'll be fine.
The more on him you rely, the brighter the other side.
No matter what comfort you plan , you're gonna still suffer sometime.
Bear in mind, for you to see bright sides, you don't always be fine, but sometime.

Evil
You dream terribly. What success
Measures your sacrifice? Bubbles
Of blood stain grass
Where a corpse lies. Grass
Over graves of your success,
Your victim still suspires & bubbles
Appear on parted lips. What bubbles
Beneath the surface? Grass
Eventually dies in this cold tussle with success.
No success at all; bubbles of deliverance, dead grass.

Reading the Future
Future is the next word you read. Suddenly.
It's how you feel and then it goes away.
You want more of it but it never comes and then it does
And you wonder where you are when it happens.
You fall into it. It blooms.
We look forward to its completion.
You are older but your smile is the same.
We reach the same moment and make promises.
You bring me the future and we hold hands,
Walking into it together.
You are light.
I follow you out of darkness.
Where did you come from
With your neon engine and heirloom precision?
Another day ends and we dream
Morning will show us something we want.
We read about it and then we are there.
We find ourselves in a story.
It's how you feel and then it goes away.
You want more of it but it never comes and then it does
And you wonder where you are when it happens.
You fall into it. It blooms.
We look forward to its completion.

The Future
the blindness of the future
fear of the unknown
who knows what the future holds?
who knows if you will make it to the future..
who knows if the future is waiting for you.
who cares about the who knows
lets just live it and be surprised
surprises are fun and fearless
the future holds it all for you
live it.
Red Tape

Red Tape
It's a dangerous thing
the future.
Especially when big men in big suits
think that they see it.
With their big words and big mouths
passing them off as a suture
for all the other times that
their predictions did not fit.
And they hide, not in fear but in gloat,
behind sharpshooters.
And when someone stands up to speak out
he is payed in bullets and spit.
It's a dangerous thing, but not for them,
the future.

Luxurious Journey Ahead
I wanna see the future as an unending journey of joy.
I wanna met people who I would share ice cream with at 4 a.m.
people who would make me forget about my phone whenever I'm around them.
I wanna lay on white bed sheets and red roses with no distractions.
I wanna plant trees that would yield power to me every time I look at.
I wanna publish my own collection of poems with no obligations.
This is me. The extreme free version of me.
